Mizuno Baseball Glove Product Reviews

1. Mizuno Prospect GXC105 - Cheap Mizuno Baseball Gloves

Our favorite glove is the Mizuno Prospect Catcher’s Mitt. The design of the glove makes it great for young players getting used to the game.

The V-notch in the glove makes it very easy for a new player to close so they can grip the ball. The “Parashock Palm” provides solid protection. Even after several innings, it’s still comfortable.

This mitt is also reasonably priced. It’s not the cheapest mitt on the market, but it is an awesome value. If you want your kid to enjoy playing baseball, a good glove is key. Injury and sore hands make the game less fun and can make your child lose concentration. We think this mitt is the best value for the price.

It requires very little break in. Conditioning the glove will help shorten the break in time.

2. Mizuno MVP Series GMVP1275B2 - Mizuno Outfield Baseball Gloves

The Mizuno MVP series outfielder glove, made of “Bio Throwback Leather”, is a soft and comfortable glove. This outfield glove has qualities that we look for in all baseball gloves. It has padding and flexibility.

The palm liner in this glove is thin enough that it won’t detract from the flexibility. The lacing in the glove isn’t just there for looks. It’s strong and flexible.

It requires a little bit of break in time, but once broken in it’s very comfortable. The design of the pocket, in particular, was impressive. A ball won’t be slipping out of that glove. It’s a good glove, like all Mizuno baseball gloves.

3. Mizuno GFN1100B1 Franchise Right Handed Throw Baseball Infield Glove - Mizuno Infield Baseball Gloves

The Mizuno Franchise Infield Baseball Glove is a great glove for the infield. One thing we really liked about this glove was its flexibility. This leather glove comes pre-oiled so it requires hardly any break-in.

The reason this glove is so flexible is the lacing. The Hi-Low design of the lacing has the same strength as a complete web, but it allows for easier closure of the glove. That ensures that when you catch the ball you will have a good grip.

Another positive to this glove is the shock absorbent palm pad. Mizuno calls it a “Parashock palm” and it’s good for comfort and protection. We noticed that the padding was good for protection while also allowing for some flexibility. This is a solid infield glove. Keep in mind that while it is pre-oiled, it still requires a little break in time.

Buying Tips

  • Think of the position you’ll be playing and buy the right glove for the job.
  • Double check the size of any glove before you buy. If you’re buying online, look for the return policy in case it doesn’t fit well.
  • Youth transitional sizes can work for men with a smaller frame.
  • Price isn’t the only consideration, look for value. What quality are you getting for the price?
  • The closure on the glove is important, it needs to be secure, but comfortable.
  • Padding is important for protecting your hand against shock. Some nice looking gloves can be lacking adequate padding. Make sure to double check that a glove has padding in the palm before you buy it.
  • The design of the webbing can make the difference between a flexible and stiff glove. The webbing should maintain integrity while allowing enough give for you to close your hand.
  • Catcher’s mitts have a different design. They should be extremely well padded while maintaining enough flexibility for a good grip when the ball hits the glove.
  • Pre-oiled mitts allow for a shorter break in time. If yours is not pre-oiled, you can buy some oil and it will help the leather get softer.

Choosing the right baseball glove can improve your performance on the field. Mizuno sells high-quality products that will help you play your best game. The glove you choose depends on the position you play, but the Mizuno Prospect GXC105 Youth Catcher's Mitt was our favourite of all of the Mizuno baseball gloves. It’s the perfect glove for young catchers and it can protect them from injury. All of the Mizuno gloves can protect from injury, so consider buying one for your favorite player.
