Best Baseball Bats for Sale 2018 (Detailed Reviews)

Choosing the right bat is your first step to hitting a home run. A bat that feels more like an extension of your own body rather than a tool will help you have a more efficient swing and better batting average. What factors are involved in selecting the right bat? For pros, there are a lot of rules involved in the type of bat they can choose, but for hobbyists, the sky is the limit. That’s why we put together reviews of the best baseball bats for sale 2018.

Should you get a metal or a wooden bat? What about a composite? All have their advantages. Much of the answer depends on what feels right to you. We will help you out by sharing our reviews of metal and wooden bats.

The Easton Mako Composite Youth Baseball Bat was a clear favorite. It’s stamped BPF is 1.15 so it is allowed in little league play. The advantage of a composite bat is the enhanced trampoline effect. The ball will come off of the composite material faster than an aluminum bat. The reason composite bats are strictly regulated is that the ball can be too fast and pose a danger to other players. The BPF of 1.15 of this bat makes it safer.

Another thing we liked about this bat was that it didn’t transfer the shock of hitting the ball to the hand of the player. It has a good grip as well. This bat outperformed the rest for our youth players. We’ll explain more in our detailed review.

Baseball Bat Reviews 2018

1. Easton Mako Composite Baseball Bat

This youth baseball bat is on top of our list of best baseball bats for sale 2018 because it is light weight a two-piece bat. It is currently still acceptable for little league play. Easton’s composite technology makes their bats some of the fastest bats in the game.

Composite bats are easy to use because they’re light and have a high trampoline effect. Another benefit is the grip. The cushioned grip on this bat makes it easier to grip and it has a soft feel. They call it the Hyperskin grip.

There’s also CXN. That is a patented 2-piece technology used by Easton. The full name is ConneXion. It isolates the barrel from the handle so that the batter doesn’t feel the same shock they would with other types of bats.

The huge sweet spot on this bat is a great tool to increase your player’s performance. Along with the incredible bat speed, this is an amazing bat.

One downside, it’s not allowed in all leagues. You’ll have to check. If it’s not, you may have to go with another MAKO to get similar performance.

2. Aluminium Alloy Baseball Bat - Best cheap baseball bats

This low-priced bat isn’t just made for gameplay. It’s also advertised as a self-defense tool. That should give you the hint that if you’re really needing to up your game, this isn’t the bat for you. However, it’s not all bad. Let’s talk about the advantages.

It’s a cheap bat with a good rubber grip. That makes it easy to control and hold. As a self-defense weapon, it is perfect. You’re not trying to hit a baseball, you’re fending off an attacker. So, precision isn’t your goal.

Does that mean it’s only for self-defense and not baseball? No. This is a nice bat that can be used for baseball and softball. It isn’t made of the same material that serious batters desire, but it’s a solid bat. This bat does what it is made to do. It hits the ball, makes it fly and is a really good solid bat.

However, this bat is not exceptionally fast and its alloy isn’t the best. Also, it has no form of Easton’s method of protecting the batter from the shock of a hit. It only has the grip.

So, this bat doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles, but it is solid and it will do its job.

3. BB-1 Aluminium Baseball Bat

The BB-1 Aluminium Baseball bat is a decent baseball bat that will do its job. Many of the higher end bats have an alloy of 7050. This bat’s alloy is 6061. It’s not a premium bat. However, the BB-1 aluminum baseball bat is a solid bat.

It has a good grip and it is very good for self-defense just like the other low-cost baseball bat.

One issue is that this bat isn’t approved for any league play. So, if you want a baseball bat for occasional fun and for self-defense, this is the bat for you. Otherwise, you should look into one of our other recommended bats that are made of better materials.

4. Louisville Slugger YBAR152 Armor - Best metal baseball bats

The Louisville Slugger 2015 Armor Baseball Bat is exceptional among aluminum bats. It’s made of an exceptional alloy and it’s made by a company that knows baseball. That’s why this bat made the list for best metal bats.

This baseball bat made it to the top of our list partly because of its high quality 7050 aircraft grade alloy. The Barnett BB-1’s allow, for example, was 6061. If you’re serious about baseball, you should consider the type of alloy of the bat you’re buying. 7050 is aircraft grade and it won’t dent like some other bats can.

While it can be a huge boost to the go if your bat actually dents when you hit a ball, it isn’t great for your wallet. If you want to play baseball regularly with and aluminum bat, get a good quality alloy. It doesn’t have the speed or trampoline effect of a composite, but it’s a good bat.

5. Easton S500 Baseball Bat

Easton S500 bat also has the superior 7050 aircraft grade alloy. That means it’s for more than just a hobbyist. It’s also 1.15 BPF certified and has a 1-year warranty. This makes it a great choice for young athletes and a great choice for best metal bats 2018.

While it doesn’t have the 2-piece technology that reduces shock like Easton, it is made of good materials. It is made of better material than our cheaper bats. If you’re serious about baseball, the upgrade is worth it so you won’t have to buy a new bat after the old one gets a dent.

It has a good grip as well. A bat can be very well made but that doesn’t matter if you can’t hold it. This bat’s grip is made to be easy to hold.

It also has a 1-year warranty. If you’ve been burned by companies with bad alloys in their bats, this is of particular interest. The one year warranty will make it so you don’t have to worry if the aircraft quality 7050 alloy is all it claims to be.

Buying tips

  • If you’re looking for the best end loaded baseball bats, first be sure that the person you’re buying it for is a strong hitter. End loaded bats require a little extra strength on the batter’s side so that they are swung properly.
  • You don’t always need a two-piece bat, but they don’t transfer the shock of the hit to the batter’s hand so in the long run, they can be safer.
  • Composite bats perform well, but they are strictly regulated in different leagues. Make sure to check the rules before you buy one for a league player.
  • Look at the alloy of your metal bat. Some alloys are better than others. While the manufacturer may say theirs’s is good, it’s worth looking into.
  • Another thing to consider Is the size of the bat. The bat needs to be regulation and the appropriate size for the player. Many bats come in multiple sizes to suit most players. While our’s were mostly for youth baseball players, your needs may vary.

If you want a really good bat, there are a few things to consider. One thing to consider is the material the bat is made of. Composite bats are often preferred, but they aren’t all regulation. Aluminum bats aren’t all the same. The type of alloy you chose will determine whether the bat gets dented during regular play.

Sometimes, though, a cheap bat is all you need to have a little fun. That’s why we included some low-cost bats in our list of best baseball bats for sale 2018. However, for real performance you should try the Easton Mako Composite Youth Baseball Bat.
